TansorPay

Pay at the counter with your face and a PIN

TansorPay is building a point-of-sale terminal that links a customer's face to their UPI ID. Look at the terminal, confirm with your PIN, and the payment runs over UPI. Nothing to take out of your pocket.

We are at prototype stage. A pilot in Mumbai and Bengaluru is planned. The service is not yet available to the public.

How a payment works

  1. 1. Register onceLink your face to your UPI ID in the TansorPay app. You only do this one time.
  2. 2. Look at the terminalThe terminal at the counter matches your face to your registration.
  3. 3. Confirm with your PINYour PIN is the second factor. The payment is processed over UPI, so there is no new payment network.

Built around the RBI authentication rules

The RBI Authentication Mechanisms for Digital Payment Transactions Directions, 2025 came into effect on 1 April 2026. They require two factors for domestic digital payments and allow biometrics, such as a face scan, to be used as one of them.

TansorPay is designed as face plus PIN. Going live depends on the approvals and bank partnerships a UPI service needs, and we will say so here when they are in place.

Recorded October 2026.
